How to be a freelance copywriter

I have absolutely been there. I have identified my talent (writing) and then decided that the only logical step is for me to become a copywriter. However, valuing my independence I wanted to be freelance – to have absolute autonomy over my time and be answerable only to myself. But, and it’s a pretty big BUT, I had no idea how to start my own business. Yes, I was a good writer. And, yes I had a can-do attitude and an unfailing spirit. However, what I needed was specific and helpful advice and what I found was either general business advice or cagey copywriters who were fearful of creating competition.

So over the past three years I have dedicated a considerable amount of time, energy and resources into finding out what works and doesn’t. Checking out my competitor’s pricing, creating a seamless sales funnel and visiting every networking event known to man. And whilst by no means do I know it all, and will endeavour to grow and learn for the rest of my freelance career, I am now ready to offer precise and targeted advice to talented writers looking to make that transition into freelance copywriting.

Running from 10am-4pm in a Central London location with lunch included I will review:

  • Navigating the sales funnel
  • How to position yourself
  • Quoting
  • Networking
  • Digital Marketing
  • Natural referrers
  • Managing clients
  • Managing expectations

And any other questions you may have at all about the journey of a freelance copywriter.
